Gujarat BJP Chief Jitu Vaghani welcomes Naroda Patiya verdict; hints comeback of Kodnani

Gandhinagar, April 21: Gujarat BJP Chief Jitu Vaghani on Friday welcomed the ruling of Gujarat High Court in controversial Naroda Patiya genocide during 2002 Gujarat riot. Speaking to the media persons, Vaghani lamented at Congress for defaming the image of BJP. He further accused Congress of framing former Minister under false Charges by misusing government investigative agencies during UPA regime.

Yesterday, Gujarat High Court acquainted Kodnani in Naroda Patiya massacre. When asked about the political comeback of former Minister, terming Maya Kodnani as a devoted worker of BJP, Vaghani asserted that after due consultation with Kodnani, the party will take the final call on her political comeback.

Kodnani had served in Narendra Modi’s Cabinet in Gujarat with the responsibility of Women and Child Development. A three-time MLA from Naroda segment, the former was arrested in 2009 for her alleged involvement in Naroda Patiya attack during 2002 Gujarat riots. Later she resigned from the post following the arrest in Naroda Patiya case.
