Digital nation for NRI: Uttar Pradesh set to launch ‘Digital Friends of UP’ forum

Lucknow, April 21: The state of Uttar Pradesh has been welcoming new initiatives and innovative ideas which can make them go digital. Initiating a new step, the state police department has decided to launch a special forum for NRIs under the forum called as ‘Digital Friends of UP’. This has been aimed to be a twitter account.

The State Police has decided to soon launch this twitter handle account focusing on the people Uttar Pradesh, living abroad and a separate coordinator will be appointed in every country. Speaking on the decision to roll out this initiative, DGP OP Singh said that there are many NRIs especially living in London, have desired to work with UP Police through twitter. After their requests, DGP has appointed Supriya Braodbent as coordinator of London Chapter.

 

Further DGP Singh also mentioned that other chapters will be opened soon in different countries. These coordinators will communicate about various services of UP Police like DIAL 100, 1090 WOMEN HELPLINE and E-FIR to other NRIs.

This new initiative by the state has shown that they have been welcoming new ideas and techniques. Connecting people through social media will help them deal with problems of people at a ground level.

BJP has been a staunch active party on social media and the politicians handling the party have played their role commendably by connecting swiftly with the people. Recently UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Facebook Page had topped the rank of most viewed and liked FB page on social media. However this new move by the state police will also help the state to connect feasibly with the masses especially the NRIs.
