Andhra Pradesh comes up with ‘Cyber Security Operations Centre’ to counter cyber-attacks

Amravati, April 24: Today the world is falling prey to ‘cybersecurity’ threats. In an era of digital, Andhra Pradesh welcomes a new ‘Cyber Security Operations Centre’ to track and combat cyber-crimes. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu unveiled Cyber Security Operations Centre with an aim to counter cyber-attacks. 

Addressing the launch, CM Naidu said that Cyber Security Operations Centre would be very useful to check the hackings, virus and cyber-crimes. Andhra Pradesh is ahead in preparation to counter cyber-attacks.

Further CM Naidu informed that the state government is already using vast data, drones and implementing real-time governance to serve the people of AP.

He stressed that the CSOC would be very useful to face the cyber threats posed to the state and the government. Many governments are facing problems due to the cyber-crimes and hackings, he points out. On the occasion, through the video-conference, he also interacted with the IT officials of Delhi.

The Andhra Pradesh Cyber Security Operations Center (APCSOC) is an initiative of the state Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (IT and E&C) Ministry. The IT giant Tech Mahindra has been selected to operate the APSCOC.

"At the heart of the security operations centre (SOC), is a blended security analytics platform that ingests, correlates and analyses massive amounts of data. The state has also roped in Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) as cybersecurity consultants to the Government in helping the state frame and adopt best-in-breed practices and frameworks in this domain," CM Naidu added.

Later, Chief Minister Naidu also launched a cyber-threat portal and the state's draft Cyber Security Framework (CSF). The draft framework - a document that integrates the industry standards and best practices has been released with an objective of inviting consultative feedback from the industry and expert groups.
