Security forces gunned down four terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit in South Kashmir's Pulwama district

Srinagar, April 25: At least four terrorists belonged to Pakistan based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were eliminated on Tuesday in a fierce encounter in Lam forest area of Tral town of South Kashmir's Pulwama district. Unfortunately, two troopers including one army man and one policeman were martyred while another policeman sustained injuries.

 

Notably, four terrorists who were later identified as Jaish-e-Mohammad’s men were eliminated by security forces including Jammu and Kashmir’s police, Indian Army and CRPF personnel received specific input of the presence of terrorists in Lam forest area of Tral town of South Kashmir's Pulwama district. The body of slain terrorists along with arms and ammunition was recovered from the encounter site.

During the combat operation, two troopers including one army man and one policeman belonged to Jammu and Kashmir police were martyred while another sustained injuries. The martyred security force personnel were identified as Sepoy Ajay Kumar and Constable Lateef Gujri. The official spokesperson of Indian Army confirmed the killing of four JeM terrorists and further said that weapons and other warlike stores were recovered from the scene of the incident.

DGP SP Vaid in a tweet said, “One more terrorist killed taking the total to 4 . Well done boys.”



Just three days before, on a tip, security forces including Army and Jammu and Kashmir’s police launched a search operation in Watsar forest area in Handwara town of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition. Earlier, in this month, the army and Kashmir’s police SOG launched a joint operation and arrested a Pakistani terrorist from Juktiyal area of Kupwara district.

Importantly, Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year.
