JK police bust a ‘module’ planning attack on cops; arrests three in Pampore district

Srinagar, April 26: Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday busted a module and nabbed three persons who were planning to attack cops and snatch the weapon from them in Pampore town. The arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession.

 

Jammu and Kashmir police arrested three persons who were travelling on a bike near EDI Pampore when they were intercepted by a naka party. After the arrest, police learned that they were planning to attack cops and snatch a weapon from them in Pampore town. During their search, one Chinese pistol was seized from their possession.

An official spokesperson said, “Police apprehended three persons who were travelling on a bike near EDI Pampore when they were intercepted by a naka party.” “During questioning, they revealed that they were in search of a soft target and kill a policeman from whom they could snatch a weapon,” he added. A case in this regard has been registered and investigations were underway, the spokesperson concluded.

The arrest comes a day after four terrorists belonged to Pakistan based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were eliminated in a fierce encounter in Lam forest area of Tral town of South Kashmir's Pulwama district. During the combat operation, two troopers including one army man and one policeman belonged to Jammu and Kashmir police were martyred while another sustained injuries.

Just four days before, on a tip, security forces including Army and Jammu and Kashmir’s police launched a search operation in Watsar forest area in Handwara town of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition. Earlier, in this month, the army and Kashmir’s police SOG launched a joint operation and arrested a Pakistani terrorist from Juktiyal area of Kupwara district.

Importantly, Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year.
