Hailing victory, India wins South Asian Under-12 Tennis Tournament

New Delhi, April 27: Owning the tag of champions, India’s young talent, rising stars have won the South Asian under 12 Tennis Championship. Bringing home the trophy, India has now been qualified to participate in ITF Asian 12 and Under Team Championship to be played in Kazakhstan later this year.

 

It seemed like all is in favour with India as both the teams showed immense potential in winning the game and declaring the trophy in their coast at the beginning itself.

Indian girls defeated host Nepal by 2-0 in the final in Lalitpur today. In the first match India's Durganshi easily defeated Aaza Regmi of Nepal in the straight sets by 6-0 and 6-0. In the second match Anjali Rathi did not face any challenge from her Nepalese opponent. She beat Subhangee Laxmi Shah by 6-0 and 6-1.

Indian boys also defeated their Nepali opponents in the final by 2-0. In the first match Harsh Fogatt beat Aki Zuben Rawat by 7-5 and 6-2 in the straight sets. India's Vansh Nandal defeated Aarav Samrat Hada of Nepal by 6-4 and 6-3 in the second match.

Cleanly sweeping their opponents in the tennis tournament, the Indian squad now aims at making their firm and stand strong at the next league, that is the ITF Asian 12 and Under Team Championship.
