Two great leaders share momentous talks: Superpowers India-China mutually can lead world on their shoulders, believes PM Modi

Wuhan, April 27: After the Indo-China leaders kicked off their informal meet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with President Xi Jinping held delegation-level talks. PM Modi warm-heartedly thanked Xi Jinping for welcoming him to Wuhan, saying “the people of India feel really proud that I’m the first Prime Minister of India, for whom, you (Chinese President) have come out of the capital twice to receive me.” 

It's a sign of your affection for India that you have hosted me twice in China outside Beijing, PM Modi added with gratitude. Addressing the delegation level talks, PM Modi said China and India together had set the pace for world economy for the last 1600 years.

Encouraging to work together, PM Modi stressed that “We (India-China) have the responsibility to work for 40% of the world population, this means trying to successfully get the world rid of many problems. To work together towards this is a big opportunity for us.”

Sweetening mutual ties, PM Modi also stressed on boosting connectivity. PM Modi said “People of both countries need to boost connectivity with each other.” He highlighted the mutual cooperation seeks to welcome new era, PM Modi said “New India and New Era's efforts in the interest of the world.”

Applauding the warming gesture of Xi Jinping PM Modi said “very positive environment created through the informal summit and you have personally contributed to it in a big way. India and China acted as engines for global economic growth for 1600 years out of the past 2000 years.” I hope such informal summits become a tradition between both the countries. I'll be happy, if in 2019, we can have such informal summit in India, PM Modi added.

Contributing for ‘World Peace’, India- China both can play a big role in world peace, said PM Modi.

Early in the day, PM Modi was accorded with cultural welcome by President Xi Jinping at Hubei Provincial Welcome. Both of the leaders shared calming gestures while touring the museum in Wuhan city. Two-day friendly summit amidst PM Modi and Xi Jinping kicked off at Central China's Wuhan city.

With this informal summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Modi are panned to exchange views on a range of issues of bilateral and global importance. They will discuss their visions and priorities for development, in context of current and future international situations, PM Modi said before leaving for Wuhan.

This informal summit aims to realign India-China ties and track both nations to work together. Before his departure to China, PM Modi said Discussions on “a range of issues of bilateral and global importance,” would be shaped by the “visions and priorities for national development, particularly in the context of the current and future international situation, in a press statement. “We will also review the developments in the India-China relations from a strategic and long-term perspective,” it added.

Super leaders PM Modi, Xi Jinping are set to share talks on development, global issues, mutual stability, international trade etc.
