NEET students get relief: 15% percentile decreased for admission eligibility

New Delhi, April 27: Now the students of NEET PG and NEET SS got some relief has the central government has taken a major decision regarding the course. It has been decided to reduce the percentage of percentile by 15 percent for admission in PG and NEET SS. This is likely to benefit 18,000 students.

In his tweet, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda said, “The government of India has decided to reduce the percentile for NEET PG and NEET SS by 15% for the good of students. This decision will benefit more than 18000 students.”

Referring to the decision, Shri J P Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare stated that all efforts are being made to fill up the PG seats. “This is a significant step towards strengthening the medical sector and indicates the priority given by the government to the health sector. We are making sure that there is adequate manpower for providing quality health services,” Nadda added.

 

JP Nadda tweeted that this decision has been taken considering the interest of the students. A large number of students will get an opportunity to get admission in PG and NEET SS due to the decline in the percentile.

This will improve the chances of filling up PG seats and minimizing wastage of seats, said the ministry in a statement.

As per regulations, for admission in any postgraduate course, "it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain a minimum of marks at 50th percentile" in NEET PG.
