New Delhi, April 3: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided that the board will not conduct a re-examination of the Class X Mathematics paper and confirmed that the paper has not been affected by the leaks.

In a tweet, Secretary School Education and Literacy Anil Swarup said, “Consequent to the preliminary evaluation of the impact of reportedly leaked CBSE class 10 maths paper & keeping in mind the paramount interest of students, CBSE has decided not to conduct re-examination even in the states of Delhi NCR and Haryana. Hence, no re-exam for class 10."

Earlier, Education Minister Prakash Javadekar had said it will only be held in Delhi and Haryana if the police investigation points to a large-scale leak.

The news comes as a respite to 1.7 million students who had appeared for the exam on Mar 28. The decision was taken post evaluation of answer sheets.

Amid huge anger over leaked CBSE final papers, the government had announced that the Class 12 Economics re-exam will be held on April 25.
