Security forces bust terrorist hideout in Pulwama district of JK; Alert forces nab Pakistani national near LoC

Srinagar, April 30: Security forces on Sunday in a major breakthrough busted a terrorist hideout in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The arms and ammunition were also recovered from the spot. Notably, intensified efforts from security forces to eradicate terrorists and terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir has led to break the backbone of extremists.

 

Security forces including Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir police SOG acting on the specific input launched the search operation in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district and busted a terrorist hideout. The arms and ammunition along with some eatables and blankets were recovered from the spot.

On the other side, a 35-year-old from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, who was identified as Ghulam Akber was arrested near a forward post in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Ghulam Akber is a resident of Marckote village of Bandi-Abbasspur tehsil was noticed by the Army personnel near Kunjan post and was taken into custody for questioning. Later, Army handed over Akber to Jammu and Kashmir police for further investigation.

In the last week, at least four terrorists belonged to Pakistan based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were eliminated in a fierce encounter in Lam forest area of Tral town of South Kashmir's Pulwama district. Just three days before this encounter, on a tip, security forces launched a search operation in Watsar forest area in Handwara town of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition.

Meanwhile, showcasing a humanity and loving gesture, the Indian Army repatriated a 12-year-old boy, who is resident of Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir inadvertently crossed the Line of Control (LOC) on April 22.

Importantly, Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year.
