Nadigar Sangam to protest for Cauvery Management Board, Sterlite plant

Chennai, April 4: South Indian Artistes’ Association, the apex film body popularly known as Nadigar Sangam has now extended its support for the ongoing protest against the Sterlite plant in Tuticorin. Nadigar Sangam in an official statement also backed the demand for constitution of Cauvery Management Board. According to media reports, on April 8, all top celebrities are likely to attend the silent protest in the state capital.


Actor- turned Politician Kamal Haasan, Superstar Rajinikanth and Sarath Kumar have already expressed their reservations about the proposed Sterlite plant in Tuticorin. A larger number of social groups, NGO and, political outfits are staging a protest against the Sterlite plant and demanding Cauvery Management Board to implement the supreme court’s verdict on inter-state water sharing dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.







Veteran actor M. NASSER is the President of Nadigar Sangam and actor Vishal holds the responsibility of General Secretary. Nadigar Sangam was founded by legendary actor and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M G Ramachandran.
