Raksha Mantri visits Russia to revitalize relations focusing on military technical cooperation

Moscow, April 4: Enhancing and revitalizing the relations between India and Russia on the military front, Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday met her Russian counterpart General Sergei Shoigu and discussed defence cooperation between the two countries with a focus on military technical cooperation.

Attending the seventh Moscow Conference on International Security, this will be Nirmala Sitharaman’s first visit to Russia in her capacity as the Defence Minister.

Adding a tweet on her official twitter handle the Defence Minister tweeted that she would be meeting Russian counterpart H E Army General Sergei Shoigu reinforcing the defence co-operation between the two countries on focusing the military technical cooperation.

Earlier in the day, she met Russias Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov and discussed strategies to strengthen defence production cooperation between the two countries.

Their discussion focused on enhancing defence production cooperation and creating synergy between the defence industries of the two countries, it added.
