Bengaluru, April 5: Terming Tamil Nadu’s agitation on Cauvery Management Board as provocative, JD(S) National President H D Deve Gowda has urged center not to bend to the pressure politics of Tamil Nadu's political leaders. Speaking to the media, the former Prime Minister noted that people of Karnataka are not happy with the developments in the neighboring state.

Underlining Centre’s role in resolving inter-state water sharing row, the former Chief Minister maintained that the central government should think twice before taking any major decision. He warned that if the situation demands, JD(S) Lawmakers would tender their resignation for the interest of the state.

Informing about the meeting with Union water resource minister Nitin Gadkari, Gowda asserted that he has conveyed his reservations on the issue of Cauvery Management Board. The senior leader hoped that both neighboring states will peacefully respond to the contentious issue.
