Centre employing delay tactics in Cauvery issue: Makkal Needhi Maiam Chief Kamal Haasan

Tiruchy, April 5: Questioning the intentions of Edappadi K.Palaniswami led Tamil Nadu government, Makkal Needhi Maiam Chief Kamal Haasan alleged that AIDMK government instead of pressuring center was dancing on the tunes of Narendra Modi government on the issue of Cauvery Management Board. Addressing the mammoth gathering here, the ace actor blamed center for delaying the constitution of Cauvery Management Board (CMB) as per the directives of the apex court.

The MNM founder stated that central government will face the wrath of Tamil people if demands on Cauvery are not fulfilled. Kamal went on saying that Tamil Nadu will launch non-cooperation movement in a peaceful manner. On this occasion, the 63-years old actor informed that his outfit is planning a brainstorming session with experts to study the dimensions of Cauvery River Water Dispute.

Kamal urged center to follow the order of the Supreme court by setting up much anticipated Cauvery Management Board to resolve the long pending inter-state water sharing dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. In September 2016, the apex court its order had directed center to form Cauvery Management Board after the judgment of Cauvery River Water Disputes Tribunal.
