Srinagar, April 6: Security forces on Friday arrested a Pakistani terrorist from Juktiyal area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district. It is a major success for security forces as they have launched intensified efforts to curb terrorism from the valley since the year 2016.

Notably, security forces including army and Kashmir’s police SOG launched a joint operation and arrested a Pakistani terrorist from Juktiyal area of Kupwara district. During the operation, prior to the arrest of a terrorist, security forces made announcements asking people to come out of their homes, fearing gunfight. But the terrorist was without arms and was in very bad health condition.

Immediately after the arrest, the terrorist was identified as Zabiullah alias Hamzah son of Sonaullah, a resident of Multan, Pakistan. However, a police officer confirmed the arrest of a Pakistani terrorist and said that a radio set has been recovered from his possession. He further added that no weapon has been recovered from the possession of arrested terrorist and searches are underway in the nearby areas.

The terrorist was believed to be injured in a gunfight that claimed 10 lives including five hardcore terrorists, three security personnel and two policemen at Check Fateh Khan of Haihama last month.

Importantly, security forces including Indian Army, JK Police SOG and CRPF personnel led a joint operation and eliminated 13 terrorists in three encounters at Anantnag and Shopian districts of South Kashmir on Sunday last week. Among those killed also included four top terror commanders.

Interestingly, the Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year.
