New Delhi, April 6: After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Aam Admi Party leader Shazia Ilmi today tendered an apology to union minister Kapil Sibal’s son Amit Sibal in the case of criminal defamation. According to media reports, in an official communication, Shazia admitted that the reported allegations were unfounded and hence she regretted the swiping remarks made against Amit Sibal.

Shazia had joined Bhartiya Janata Party ahead of the Delhi assembly election 2015 challenging the leadership of Aam Admi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal. Shazia, a famous TV journalist was associated with Anna Hazare’s anti-graft campaign in 2012. Later she joined hands with Arvind Kejriwal's political outfit and contested unsuccessful Lok Sabha elections 2014 from Ghaziabad but lost against BJP’s V K Singh.
