India's best 'State of the Year' award goes to Chhattisgarh

New Delhi, April 7: Chhattisgarh bagged the ‘State of the Year’ Award for its remarkable progress in business and services activities in various sectors of the state. The remarkable jump is the result of policy decisions taken in the field of business by Chhattisgarh government in the past few years and its effective implementation.

Union Information Technology and Electronics Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad gave the award at India Business Leader Awards (IBLA) event. The award was received by Chhattisgarh Revenue, Higher Education, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Prem Prakash Pandey.

On the occasion, the minister attributed the growth of the state to the BJP government which has been in power since 2003 in the state. He said that the state government has successfully completed 14 years under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh.

He added that the government has managed to overcome all the hurdles coming in the way of business and industries with great commitment and dedication. As a result, Chhattisgarh has been ranked 4thin World Bank’s list of ‘Ease of doing Business’.

“Chhattisgarh is improving constantly and expressed confidence that it will attain number one position in the ranking. He mentioned that Niti Aayog had recently appreciated reforms taken by Chhattisgarh’s,” Pandey said.

He said that Chhattisgarh is the land of opportunities; it has 28 types of minerals, skilled manpower and encouraging industrial policies. The industrial growth rate of the state is constantly more than the national growth rate. The priority is on core sector, non-core sector and sunrise sector. The state has 24 hour best quality power supply and better rail, road and air connectivity.
