JK Police arrests two associates of Pak-based Ansar Gajwatulhind terror outfit; recovers cash, arms and ammunition

Srinagar, April 8: Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday busted a network of Pakistan-based terror outfit Ansar Gajwatulhind and arrested two hardcore associates of terrorists in Awantipora district. The cash, arms and ammunitions including hand grenade was recovered from their possession. Notably, this is a result of intensified efforts of security forces to curb terrorism and terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir with an aim to bring peace, law and order in the valley.

 

Jammu and Kashmir’s Awantipora Police busted a network of Pakistan-based terror outfit Ansar Gajwatulhind and arrested two over ground workers (OGW) from the area. Arms and ammunition including some grenades have been recovered from their possession. Also, the cash amount of Rs 5.5 lakhs were seized from the possession of two OGWs.

A police official in a statement said that Rafiq Ahmad Dar and Abid Majeed both residents of Awantipora for their involvement in terrorist activities and funding. A case under FIR number 50/2018 was registered at police station Awantipora, he added. The police official also revealed that six more individuals intending to join militancy were counseled and subsequently handed over to their parents.

Earlier, in the month of February, security forces including Awantipora Police, Army and CRPF busted a network of Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad and arrested five over ground workers (OGW) from the area. The apprehended Jaish module was involved in grenade throwing incidents in Pampore and Khrew area of Jammu and Kashmir.

Interestingly, the Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year.
