Hyderabad, April 8: Telangana set to ban ‘non-reusable’ plastics at tourists’ places. Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Ltd is about to implement a ban on most types of non-reusable plastics at its properties that include hotels, resorts, boating, sound and light and eco-tourism. 

The ban will roll out on single-use plastic bags and disposable containers and utensils with certain exemptions on packaging for food and other goods.

According to a press release issued by the ban will include single-use plastic bags, disposable containers and utensils. “To increase the ban’s effectiveness in the hotels, TSTDC Ltd will be pushing an awareness campaign to make sure people are prepared once the new laws are enforced,” read the release.

TSTDC Ltd Managing Director B Manohar will organise a meet with the department officials from across the State for its effective implementation. The TSTDC is also reaching out to unit level officials to pursue awareness initiative for the visitors of hotels. Before Telangana, Maharashtra has already implemented the plastic ban.
