Haryana to provide special benefits to TB patients

Chandigarh, April 8: Haryana has become a helping hand for the Tuberculosis (TB) patients of the state by providing several benefits to them and also it is an effort to eliminate the infectious disease by 2025.

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said on Saturday, “the state government will provide nutritional support of 500 rupees per month to notified TB patients during their treatment with effect from April 1 this year through Direct Benefit Transfer system (DBT).”

Free services, including sputum examination and X-Ray, will also be provided to TB patients in government hospitals of Haryana. For this purpose, CBNAAT machines have been provided in all districts for more accurate and quick diagnosis.

An incentive of Rs 1,000 would be given to private providers for managing TB patients on the notification till treatment outcome through DBT, he said.

The minister said Haryana is committed to putting an end to the menace of TB by 2025 and would provide special benefits for this.

In a united move to end TB with the motto “TB Harega-Desh Jeetega (TB will lose and the nation will win)”, Vij urged the people to come forward as leaders for making the world TB-free.
