CM Biplab Deb launches state component of PMKVY: A pilot project to push skill development in NE

Agartala, April 8: Taking the throne of victory with pride, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb launched State Component of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 2.0 under Directorate of Skill Development. 

CM Biplab Kumar Deb also inaugurated “Universal Health Coverage: Everyone, Everywhere.” “We will strengthen all our health facilities especially District Hospitals. There is no financial constraint, Govt of India has assured full support under National Health Mission,” CM Deb said on the occasion of World Health Day.

 
 

While addressing the launch, CM Biplab Kumar Deb assured that the target to give training to more than 1 lakh 16,000 youths by 2020 will be achieved and as a result, the problem of unemployment prevailing in the state will be solved.

Further CM also said, those who wish to start, especially the small-scale industries, will be provided land, other assistance and security. He said the state government is also planning to promote industrialization based on pineapple, bamboo, rubber and jackfruit. He added that tourism sector will be developed with proper strategy in the coming days.

Tripura is the first state in the North East to implement the state component of PMKVY through Directorate of Skill Development (DSD). As part of the implementation process, DSD launched the skill development training programmes in 13 accredited training centres with a target of 1830 candidates on 21 job roles in 13 sectors across five districts of the state. Another 15 centres are under process for accreditation. Tripura is the first state in the country implementing pilot project for authorization for skilled candidates who would be imparted training programmes in different trades under various departments and private training providers.
