Kolkata Railway line blast critically injures one, ten crude bombs recovered

Kolkata, April 9: On a saddening note, Kolkata's Dum Dum Cantonment railway line on Monday witnessed the most tensed moment as one person has been critically injured after an explosion on the railway line.

A ragpicker woman accidentally picked up a country-made bomb and got seriously injured. She was rushed to a nearby hospital.

 

Ten crude bombs have been recovered from the spot of the explosion. The police and railway police are present at the spot.

The explosion comes just two days after a bomb was recovered on Saturday night from an under-construction metro tunnel in Kolkata. The bomb was recovered from Subhas Sarovar under-construction metro tunnel of the East-West Metro project near Kadapara area. A team of police personnel from Beliaghata police station, along with Kolkata Police bomb disposal squad, reached the spot and recovered the dead shell from beside the rail tracks.
