SS Rajamauli’s Baahubali tale to feature in Japan’s Manga comic series

Hyderabad, April 9: After mesmerizing Japanese audiences, SS Rajamauli’s epic tale of Baahubali is all set to enter into the famous Manga Comics in Japan. Gentosha comics will helm the mega project. Confirming the development, Producer Shobu Yarlagadda took to Twitter and thanked Japanese fans for the unconditional love and support of the magnum opus. The much-anticipated series will be launched in June

Manga is popular comic series crafted in Japanese language, conforming to a style developed in Japan in the late 19th century. This is for the first time, any Indian film will be presented in Manga comics. In Japanese language, Manga word used to refer to both comics and cartooning. Gentosha Inc is a Shibuya based Japanese publishing house. Gentosha publishes manga magazine Comic Birz, Webcomic magazines GENZO, SPICA, Comic MAGNA, literary magazines Lynx, papyrus, as well as business magazine GOETHE.

After the successful domestic run, the Prabhas Starrer epic drama was released in Japan on December 29 last year with 45-50 screens. According to the latest report, the period drama has achieved the business of more than 1 million US$. India’s first highest grosser, Baahubali: The Conclusion, the brainchild of Veteran Writer V Vijayendra Prasad, father of legendary director SS Rajamauli. The two-part magnum opus was originally shot in Telugu and Tamil and dubbed in Hindi and Malayalam. The epic drama was bankrolled by Arka Media Works, the leading production house down south.
