Ferocious terrorist Sameer Tiger eliminated; Security forces strikes on Hizbul Mujahideen in Pulwama district of JK

Srinagar, May 1: Continuing its intensifying anti-terrorism operation, security forces on Monday gunned down two terrorists belonged to Pakistan based Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit after a fierce encounter that took place in Drabgam area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district. The body of slain terrorists along with arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter spot.

 

Notably, Hizbul’s top commander Sameer Ahmed Bhat alias 'Sameer Tiger' along with his close associate Aaquib Mushtaq was eliminated by security forces after a fierce encounter that took place in Drabgam area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district. During the gun battle, two army personnel were injured.


Security forces including Indian Army, the special task force of the Jammu and Kashmir’s police and CRPF cordoned off the Drabgam area of Pulwama district after getting a specific input. As the search operation closed in on the house, security forces received bullets from the terrorists ensuing into the encounter. Immediately security forces retaliated heavily and eliminated two terrorists.


During the encounter, civilians tried to protect the terrorists with pelting stones. Unfortunately, a civilian was killed when security forces were trying to chase away a stone-pelting mob. Hours after, a group of terrorists opened fire on the civilians in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district. In this attack, at least three civilians were killed who were later identified as Asger Sheikh, Haseeb Khan, and Asif Sheikh.



The elimination of two terrorists comes a day after security forces including Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir police SOG acting on the specific input launched the search operation in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district and busted a terrorist hideout.

In the last week, at least four terrorists belonged to Pakistan based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were eliminated in a fierce encounter in Lam forest area of Tral town of South Kashmir's Pulwama district. Just three days before this encounter, on a tip, security forces launched a search operation in Watsar forest area in Handwara town of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition.

Meanwhile, showcasing a humanity and loving gesture, the Indian Army repatriated a 12-year-old boy, who is resident of Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir inadvertently crossed the Line of Control (LOC) on April 22.

Importantly, Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year.
