After #cabinetreshuffle JK gets new Deputy CM, here are the portfolios of other ministers

Srinagar, May 1: Hours after reshuffling of the portfolios of the ministers in Jammu and Kashmir government, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has allotted the portfolios to the new ministers. According to the government order issued in Jammu on Monday evening, Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta has been assigned the charge of Industries, Commerce and Transport.

Two PDP leaders who joined the cabinet of Mehbooba Mufti-led government Mohammed Ashraf Mir and Mohammed Khalil Bandh were assigned to Agriculture Production and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs ministry respectively.

On the other side, the legislators of BJP including Sat Pal Sharma and Sunil Kumar Sharma have been assigned to Housing and Urban Development and Power Development ministry respectively. While Rajiv Jasrotia was given Forest Ecology and Environment and Devender K.Manyal was given Health and Medical Education ministry.


On Monday, six new members from the BJP and two legislators of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have joined the Jammu and Kashmir’s government as a part of the cabinet reshuffle. A total of four BJP legislators including Kavinder Gupta, Sat Sharma, Rajiv Jasrotia DK Manyal and Shakti Raj administered the oath of office and secrecy by JK governor NN Vohra. Meanwhile, two PDP legislators Mohammed Ashraf Mir and Mohammed Khalil Bandh also administered the oath of office and secrecy.

Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has asked all its nine ministers in the Mehbooba Mufti government, to submit their resignations to enable bringing in new faces in the two-year-old Mehbooba Mufti cabinet.
