New Delhi, May 10: Corruption, cheating and scams cannot be hidden for a long time. In a series to combat scams, Delhi’s Anti-Corruption Bureau has nabbed 10 crores raiding Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s deceased brother-in-law Surender Kumar Bansal’s residence. The raid was alleged on the basis on allegations against Public Works Department Scam and has arrested Vinay Bansal.

Following a series of raid in the residence of Surender Kumar Bansal, the Anti-Corruption Bureau nabbed 10 crores on Thursday morning. Surender Bansal, who passed way in May last year, was accused of corruption. In June last year, three FIRs were filed against CM Kejriwal and others including Surender in connection with irregularities in awarding contracts for roads and sewer lines in Delhi in 2015-16. Surender was the proprietor of a construction company.

Three companies, including Renu Constructions (owned by Bansal, Kamal Singh and Pawan Kumar), were included in the FIRs. In a complaint, Rahul Sharma, founder of Roads Anti-Corruption Organisation (RACO), had alleged that Kejriwal and PWD minister Satyendra Jain misused their office for grant of contracts to Bansal.

RACO, an organisation which claims to monitor construction projects in the national capital, had alleged that a firm linked to Bansal was involved in financial irregularities in building a drainage system in north-west Delhi. It was also alleged that the bills sent to the Public Works Department (PWD) for unfinished works were “false and fabricated”.
