Himachal Pradesh to provide Heli-Taxi services at all tourist places; aims boost in tourism

Shimla, May 10: With an aim to boost the tourism sector in the state, Himachal Pradesh government has decided to introduce 'Heli-Taxi' services at major tourist destinations. The move from Himachal Pradesh government comes two weeks after it introduced free Heli-ambulance services across the state. 

Notably, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism and Civil Aviation Manisha Nanda said that the state government was making best efforts to start Heli-taxi services at various tourist destinations of Himachal Pradesh.” She added that it was a major step towards giving a boost to the tourism sector and it would facilitate the tourists visiting the state besides strengthening air connectivity with the neighbouring states.

Presiding over a meeting of the officials of aviation companies including Pawan Hans Limited, Skyone Airways, Ind Jet and hospitality sector bodies, Manisha Nanda said at present the state had three functional airports at Gaggal, Shimla and Bhuntar.

“Work was in progress to facilitate the tourists and common people at Rampur and Jhakri in Shimla, Baddi in district Solan, Pandoh in Mandi and Manali in Kullu under Uddan-II scheme,” the official added. Nanda, in the end, assured full cooperation from the state government to air-taxi companies. Meanwhile, the representatives of the air taxies companies agreed to operate Heli-taxies in the State.
