Slamming Congress for not letting OBC Commission a ‘Constitutional Status’, PM Modi promises to uplift the weaker section

New Delhi, May 10: Arriving on the last leg of campaign, BJP has not left any stones unturned to gain the trust and faith of the people in Karnataka. Prime Minister Narendra Modi while interacting with the SC/ST, OBC, Minority and Slum Dwellers of Karnataka through ‘Narendra Modi Mobile App’ said that the workers in the state have played a paramount role in connecting people directly with the government.

Workers of the Bharitya Janata Party have connected the audience and helped the party in reaching to each and every household. PM Modi noted and cited that BJP hails most of their MPs from SC, ST, OBC and minorities communities, he appreciated them for their efforts. PM Modi lauded the efforts taken by the members by walking on the ideals of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s Antyodaya, he urged the members to further the reach of the party’s initiatives among the weaker sections. Remembering Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, PM Modi remarked that welfare of each and every community was the BJP’s commitment.

Recalling Jyotiba Phule’s contribution in the freedom struggle, PM Modi invokes the importance of spreading education and women empowerment to fight against social injustice prevailing in the society. Appreciating the incites of KabirDas and Ravidas, for their inspirational ways to fight social injustice.

Attacking Congress for their double standard behavior and humiliating Dr. Ambedkar, PM Modi said that till the time Congress was in power they did not confer Bharat Ratna to Dr. Ambedkar. It was only after Atal Bihari Vajpayee formed the government, Baba Saheb Ambedkar was conferred with Bharat Ratna.

Prime Minister Modi also stated that the BJP was working on developing Panchteerth of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. He remarked saying that they are taking inspiration from all the great saints, and are trying to fulfill Baba Saheb's dream of powerful and prosperous nation.

Interacting at the session, PM Narendra Modi also attended questions from the SC/ST, OBC and Slum Morcha and spoke at length about several welfare measures being undertaken to uplift them. Elaborating on the welfare schemes, PM Modi highlighted saying that in the year 2015, the BJP-led NDA Government strengthened the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and increased the offences listed in the Act from 22 to 47 to empower the weaker sections. He said that Stand up and Mudra Yojanas were helping to make SC/ST, OBC and women financially empowered.

Slamming the Congress for not thinking about the upliftment of the people and not letting the OBC Commission a Constitutional Status in Parliament, he said that the party was only involved in vote bank politics and never cared about the people of the country.

On the final stance of the interaction, PM Narendra Modi highlighted the efforts taken by the NDA Government in making India grow rapidly and therefore mentioned that the country stands on 2nd position in large steel manufacturing, 2nd largest mobile phone manufacturer and 4th largest automobile manufacturer. He also noted several initiatives being undertaken by the Centre like Smart Cities, Amrut and connecting the waterways.
