Mumbai, May 11: In 1998, the government of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on this day, surprised the world by conducting a nuclear test in Pokhran in Rajasthan. Suddenly, these nuclear tests left many countries including the US, Pakistan.

Under the leadership of former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, this mission was executed in such a way that the whole world including the US did not even know its significance. Prior to this, in 1974, the Indira Gandhi government had adopted the first nuclear test (Pokhran-1) and the world was considered to be the iron of India's strength, it was named Operation 'Smiling Buddha'.

On the occasion of completing 20 years of Pokan nuclear test, the BJP's youth unit will organize several programs and make the youth aware of the process of testing, requirements and the 'Swabhiman' produced from it. Let's know that how big a secret that India had done 20 years ago on this day was a big nuclear explosion:

Actually, the US intelligence agency CIA was keeping an eye on India and had installed 4 satellites to monitor Pokaran. Although India conducted a nuclear test by dodging the CIA and its satellites.

Some scientists associated with this project were cautioning that they used to talk to each other in code language and used to call each other with pseudonymous names. These false names were so many that sometimes fellow scientists forgot one another's name.

All that day was taken to the test site in Army uniform so that the intelligence agency felt that the army personnel are giving duty.

'Missileman' Abdul Kalam was also present in Army uniform. Later pictures of him were also revealed, in which the entire team appeared in Army uniform.
