Mumbai, May 11: Veteran farmer leader and Lok Sabha MP Raju Shetty today called on Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and expressed happiness over the cancelation of RajguruNagar-Khed SEZ. The Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghtana head thanked Fadnavis for resolving long pending issues of farmers in four villages.
The meeting holds significance as the Hatkanangle MP was annoyed with the policies of BJP led state government and slammed government on several occasion. Shetty enjoys good support in crucial sugar belt of western Maharashtra. Shetty’s one-time close aid, Sadabhau Khot is the member of Fadnavis cabinet. In 2014 general elections and state assembly polls, Shetty’s party teamed-up with BJP under the banner of Mahayuti.
