Section 144 has been imposed after communal clashes erupt in Aurangabad leaving several cops injured

Aurangabad, May 12: Aurangabad is fiercely boiling over clashes between two groups over water. Section 144 has been imposed and police forces have been to control the situation. Also, internet services have been suspended in Aurangabad. 

Clashes broke out when the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation cut water connection in the area, owing to non-clearance of bills. Water connection was also cut at one of the religious places, after which things took a violent turn.

Several parts city witnessed youths from two groups taking to streets and attacking each other with some pelting stones. Several vehicles were also burnt. Over 40 vehicles were torched, shops in Shahgunj and Chelipura areas were set on fire, as the issue turned into a communal clash. Police had to resort to teargas shelling to contain the situation. The clashes left many injured, including police personnel. However, the police are yet to confirm any death in the clashes.

The violence has left at least 10 policemen injured. Section 144 of the CrPC was later imposed in Aurangabad city. Several people took to Twitter to report about the incident.
