New Delhi, May 14: Central government’s Water Resource Minister today presented the much-anticipated draft of proposed Cauvery management board as per the direction of the Supreme Court. Earlier, the apex court had rapped central government over the sluggish process in the constitution of Cauvery management board in order to implement the directions of the top court.

A bench consisting of Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra and Justices AM Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud will review the policy framework presented by the central government officials. According to media reports, the top apex court will take the final on May 16. On February 16, the Supreme Court in its ruling of inter-state water dispute had directed the central government to form Cauvery management board for the successful rollout of its direction. Earlier, Centre had sought an extension of two weeks in order to implement the order of SC on Cauvery water dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
