New Delhi, May 14: Coming out as a big relief for Congress leader Divya Spandana, the Supreme Court today turned down the plea of BJP leader and lawyer, Ashwini Upadhyay demanding action against the against Congress social media chief over her alleged tweets against Dipak Misra.

The apex court has negated the application for an urgent hearing. A case was filed against the former Lok Sabha member for tarnishing the image of the Chief Justice of India by sharing defamatory and unverified content on social media platforms. Besides Ashwini Upadhyay, another BJP leader Gaurav Bhatiya has filed a PIL demanding action against Congress leaders.

Divya Spandana, head of Social media wing of Congress known for her aggressive comments on BJP leader. This is not the first time the famous actress is landed in controversy. Several times, Divya came under the fire for criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
