INSV Tarini with all-woman crew to knock our doors soon: 347 Nm away from Goa

Panaji, May 14: There is a good news for us as the all-woman crew of INSV Tarini is crossing all the tough milestones on its way of circumnavigation and now it is just few Nautical Miles (Nm) away from to touch Goa.

 

In the official tweet of Spokesperson of Indian Navy, it was mentioned that “Navika Sagar Parikrama Position of INSV Tarini at 06.00h this morning. Distance to Goa is 347 Nm (~642 kms on the ground)”

 

This is the first-ever Indian circumnavigation of the globe by an all-women crew. They had begun their voyage in September last year from Goa.

The expedition has been titled Navika Sagar Parikrama. The Parikrama was covered in five legs, with stop-overs at 4 ports: Fremantle (Australia), Lyttleton (New Zealand), Port Stanley (Falklands), and Cape Town (South Africa). And now it is heading to its end at Goa and is expected to touch the land soon.

The all-women crew who started their journey of Navika Sagar Parikrama on a 55-foot yacht consists of Lt Commander Pratibha Jamwal, Lt Commander P Swati, Lt Vijaya Devi, Lt B Aishwarya and Lt Payal Gupta.
