Lingayat move spoiled Congress’s performance: Ashwani Kumar

New Delhi, May 15: Former law minister and senior Congress leader Ashwani Kumar said that state government’s Lingayat move has devastated the prospects of Congress in Karnataka. Speaking to the media Kumar admitted that Congress government under Siddaramaiah has failed to gain the confidence of the people.

According to latest reports, BJP is leading on 104 seats, Congress has won 78 segments and regional outfit JD(S) has managed 37 segments in 224-member Karnataka assembly. Both the leaders of political parties will be meeting the Governor of Karnataka Vajubhai Vala. Congress after losing the turf has extended unconditional support to H D Deve Gowda’s JD(S).
