Uttarakhand to benefit 20 lakh families under Ayushman Bharat Scheme

Dehradun, May 15: With an aim to provide a good treatment to nearly 20 lakh families in the states, Ayushman Bharat Scheme will be started in Uttarakhand under the Prime Minister National Health Security Mission. Under this scheme, 5.38 lakh families marked on half of the state's economic and caste survey have to get help.

A Memorandum of Understanding (Mou) was signed between National Health Mission Executive Officer Indu Bhushan and State Health Secretary Nitesh Jha in the presence of Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat in the program organized in Shimla on Monday.

It will be special in the plan that eligible persons will be able to get free treatment in the hospitals listed in any part of the country. In the specialist hospitals outside the state, there will be a reduction in expenses incurred on treating patients with free treatment.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also thanked the Union Minister for allowing the Central Government to re-operate closed hospitals in urban areas on behalf of the Central Government. Secretary Nitesh Jha said that the Nodal Agency will be strengthened to operate the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
