Beware! MeT opens its new weather warnings

New Delhi, May 16: The weather is in no mood to be happy with Northern Parts of India as it has created a distress in that region by storms, heavy speedy winds, rains etc which has taken many lives also. Now the Meteorological Department (MeT) has issued a new warning on weather situations. So beware before you think to travel to these areas.

According to the latest warning, thunderstorm accompanied by gusty winds with speed of 50 to 70 kms is very likely at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Dust storm may hit large parts of north India, including Delhi for the next 72 hours. The national capital was hit by a dust storm in the early hours today.

Similar predictions have been made for tomorrow at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Police said an 18-year-old man was killed and 13 people injured in the dust storm that hit Delhi this morning. The Police Control Room received 78 calls during the storm that started around 3 AM.

Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in the morning was recorded at 25 degrees Celsius. Light rain or drizzle is expected towards the evening.
