Bengaluru, May 21: Following the lines of previous Karnataka government, JD(S) leader and Chief Minister-designate HD Kumaraswamy expressed reservations about the demand raised by actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth over Cauvery issue.

Speaking to the media the JD((S) leader stated that Karnataka is suffering from the acute water crisis. He further went on saying that Rajinikanth should personally visit affected areas to witness the plight of the farmers. Citing the reason of the poor condition of reservoirs, the former Chief Minister said that the superstar will understand the gravity of the situation.

Earlier, Rajinikanth demanded that new Karnataka government should release the legitimate share of Cauvery water for the people of Tamil Nadu. In his recent media interaction, Rajini hailed the stand of the apex court in the high-voltage drama of Karnataka where BJP had failed to prove its majority on the floor of the house.

Incidentally, few days before, the Supreme Court had ratified the proposed legal framework for the constitution of Cauvery management board to ensure the hassle-free water supply to both the neighboring state.
