Vijayawada, May 21: In order to sharpen the drive against Central government, Telugu Desam Party’s ' annual Maha Nadu' conclave will kick-start from May 27 to 29. In this three-day state level summit, the ruling party will heat up the campaign against the BJP led central government over the non-fulfillment of special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

During this mega event, TDP is likely to bring 30 odd political resolutions to mount pressure on BJP ahead of the 2019 general election. The meeting is quite significant in the backdrop of Karnataka elections where TDP’s Telugu pride had spoiled the prospect of BJP. Recently, a review meeting under the chairmanship of AP Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu was held to fine-tune the preparations for the three-day conference.

After the high profile fast of Chandra Babu, Maha Nadu will be the biggest event to target the top leadership of BJP. On March 16, TDP had snapped ties with BJP on the demand of special category status and several key demands under AP reorganization act. Recently BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao had to face the wrath of Overseas-TDP members where they allegedly stalled the programme of BJP’s Overseas-cell at New Jersey.
