The BJP leader demanded that Court-monitored CBI investigation should be initiated to probe the alleged financial irregularities in funds managed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. Earlier, Dr. A V Ramana Deekshitulu was removed from the post of Chief Priest.

In his recent media interaction, the Chief priest had raised serious objections over the functioning of TTD board and also filed a petition for bringing TTD administration under Right to Information Act. Days after his press meet, the TTD Trust Board appointed new chief priest A Venugopala Deekshitulu, replacing 69-year-old Ramana Deekshitulu. The top body also produced a resolution underlining the age limit of 65 for hereditary priests.
