Maharashtra by-polls: CM Yogi Adityanath to address meetings in Palghar

Mumbai, May 22: After the hectic election campaign of Karnataka, BJP’s star Pracharak Yogi Adityanath will seek votes for BJP’s Rajendra Gavit in Palghar. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister will join the campaign on Wednesday where he is scheduled to address the public meetings in Vasai-Virar and Nala Sopara areas.

This move of Maharashtra BJP is to woo the sizable voters hailing from Uttar Pradesh. Shriniwas Vanga, son of late Chintaman Vanga is fighting on Shiv Sena ticket. Two Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra Palghar and Bhanadar-Gondia will go to poll on May 28.

The Palghar seat fell vacant after the demise of BJP MP Chantaman Vanga whereas, in Bhanadar-Gondia, a by-election was announced after the resignation of seating MP Nana Patole who has joined hands with Congress. In 2014 elections, BJP had won both parliamentary segments.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is personally monitoring the whole campaign in order to retain the Lok Sabha seats. Earlier, MP Manoj Tiwari, a Prominent North Indian face of BJP had campaigned for the upcoming by-polls.
