Bengaluru, May 22: Days after the High political drama in Karnataka assembly, BJP has announced the candidature of BN Prahlad from Jayanagar assembly segment. Earlier, the Election Commission had canceled the polling after the sudden demise of BJP lawmaker and BJP candidate B.N. Vijaykumar during the election campaign.
BN Prahlad, brother of late BJP leader will contest the prestigious Jayanagar poll which is scheduled on June 11. On the other hand, polling at Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency was halted by EC after the alleged fake voter cards were found in an apartment.
According to media reports, Union Minister Ananth Kumar and D Sadanand Gouda have roped-in to ensure the victory of BJP. With the unconditional support of Congress, leader HD Kumaraswamy will take the charge of Karnataka. The swearing-in ceremony will take place on May 23.
