According to media reports, in order to strengthen the political base in Konkan region, Davkhare will represent BJP in upcoming graduate Constituency assembly segment which is scheduled for June 8. The NCP lawmaker has submitted his resignation to Council Chairman Ramraje Naik-Nimbalkar. Meanwhile, reacting to the development, newly appointed Maharashtra NCP Chief Jayant Patil has suspected the 39-year MLC for three years.

In 2012, Davkhare won Division Graduates constituency election from Konkan region on NCP ticket. After the sudden demise of his father Vasant Davkhare, the NCP leader was annoyed with the local leadership of NCP, especially in Thane region.
