Islamabad/New Delhi, May 25: In a bid to promote the local content, Pakistan government has decided to impose a temporary ban on Indian films during the festive session of Eid. During this ban, no international films will be screened from two days before the Eid to until two weeks after the holidays.

According to an official statement issued by the ministry of information and broadcasting, same guidelines will be followed during Eid-ul-Adha most probably in the month of August or September. According to media reports, Pakistani film producers and artists were unhappy over the disappointing box office performance of domestic films and non-availability of screens due to foreign content, especially from India.
