India bags two medals in Archery World Cup Stage II in Turkey

Ankara, May 26: In Archery, India stood with proud by bagging two medals in Turkey when it opened its account at the second stage of the World Cup Stage II at Antalya in Turkey with Silver and a Bronze medal in the Compound section.


 

India has The Women's team of Jyothi Vennam, Muskan Kirar and Divya Dhayal settled for Silver on Friday after losing to their Chinese Taipei opponents by three points. Later, the third-seeded Mixed pair of Jyothi and Abhishek Verma won the Bronze medal play-off to bag the second medal for India.

The Recurve Women's team of Deepika Kumari, Promila Daimary and Ankita Bhagat will play for Bronze medal today against the archers of Chinese Taipei.

 

Earlier in the day, on the rain-swept beach here, Lin Ming-Ching, Chen Yi-Hsuan and Chen Li Ju almost had the match wrapped up in the second end when India failed to find the 10 ring for five out of six shots, putting them five points behind, 117-112.
