Chandrababu Naidu demands Bharat Ratna for NT Rama Rao

Vijayawada, May 28: Marking the 95th birth anniversary of legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Tarak Rama Rao, popularly known as NTR, TDP National President Nara Chandra Babu Naidu today demanded the highest civilian award Bharat Ratna for the TDP founder.

Speaking at the Mahanadu Conclave of the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister urged yellow army members to work towards the overall development of the state. He further announced that state government will introduce a special chapter on NTR in the state curriculum. Expressing happiness over the much-anticipated biopic of TDP founder N T Rama Rao, Naidu stated that movie on the ace actor will defiantly inspire future generations.

Born in 1923 in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, NTR rose to fame with his extraordinary acting skills. People of Andhra used to worship NTR like a god because of his larger than life image and effective screen presence. In 1982, NTR launched a regional outfit called Telugu Desam Party and swept Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls in 1983. In January 1996, the actor-turned-politician died of cardiac arrest.
