Washington, May 28: After the dramatic twists and turns running around the US-North Korea Singapore Summit, the latest development in the meeting is that the United States of America has sent its team to North Korea. U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday a U.S. team had arrived in North Korea to prepare for a proposed summit between him and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, which Trump pulled out of last week before reconsidering.

Stating out the first confirmation through twitter, US Prez Donald Trump tweeted saying, “Our United States team has arrived in North Korea to make arrangements for the Summit between Kim Jong Un and myself.” in Washington’s first confirmation that U.S. officials had entered North Korea for the talks.

“I truly believe North Korea has brilliant potential and will be a great economic and financial Nation one day. Kim Jong Un agrees with me on this. It will happen!” Trump added.

Earlier, the U.S. State Department said U.S. and North Korean officials had met at Panmunjom, a village in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that runs along the heavily armed border between North and South Korea.

On similar lines, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said, a ‘pre-advance team’ is headed to Singapore to prepare for the summit.

Last week, Trump had suddenly canceled the meeting after North Korean statements in which they threatened not to attend the summit. Soon thereafter, the North Korean leaders said they were ready to meet anytime and anywhere. Trump on last Thursday sent a letter to Kim, saying that their planned meeting will not happen.

North Korea's First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye Gwan said his country is ready to sit down with the United States anytime in any manner for talks to solve the problems existing between them.
