Winding up a successful reconnecting tour to Indonesia, PM Modi to strengthen bond with Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, May 31: After having a successful bilateral meeting with the Indonesia President Joko Widodo, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his next leg of visits arrived in Malaysia on Thursday morning. Apart from the discussions on defense and maritime security in the Asia Pacific region, the Prime Minister will hold talks with the business community on growing trade ties between the two countries.

 

Making a brief halt in Malaysia, PM Narendra Modi met Malaysian PM Dr. Mahathir Mohamad in Kuala Lumpur. The two leaders had a productive exchange of views on strengthening our strategic partnership. PM Modi congratulated Dr. Mahathir on assuming the post of Prime Minister of Malaysia.

 

 

Before leaving for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this morning, PM Modi in a tweet said his visit to Indonesia has added great strength to bilateral relations between India and Indonesia. He thanked Indonesian President Joko Widodo and the wonderful people of the country for the exceptional hospitality PM Modi told the Indian diaspora in Indonesia has excelled in several fields and adds strength to the friendship.
 
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joko Widodo jointly addressed the CEOs of both countries last evening on working together to improve trade relationships. The India-Indonesia CEOs forum presented a report to the PM Modi after the meeting. It is to be noted that both countries have set up a joint working group to move forward in fields of common interest. 
Both the Countries had signed several agreements and MOUs to strengthen and broaden their relationships and take it to the next level.
