Karnataka By-poll: Congress bags Rajarajeshwari Nagar segment

Bengaluru, May 31: Congress Candidate Muniratna has won the Rajarajeshwari Nagar Assembly segment with 46,218 votes. Muniratna polled 80,282 votes, whereas BJP's Muniraju Gowda ended up with 34,064 votes. Ruling party JD(S)’s G H Ramachandra managed to get 23,526 votes.

Responding to the by-poll outcome, Congress leader and KPCC State working president Dinesh Gundu Rao congratulated Muniratna for registering a thumping victory in much anticipated Rajarajeshwari Nagar by-election where alleged voter cards were found during Karnataka assembly election. later polling was suspended by EC. After Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Congress’s tally has reached to 14. The state capital has total 27 assembly segments.
