BJP releases manifesto #BJPVachana4Karnataka; promises to ‘empower farmers’ on priority

Bengaluru, May 4: Karnataka holds the significant position for upcoming Assembly Elections as Bhartiya Janata Party is leaving stone unturned to the throne this election’s victory. Today BJP Karnataka President B. S. Yeddyurappa released manifesto which promises farmers’ welfare, women empowerment, flourish start-ups etc.

 Addressing the manifesto launch, B S Yeddyurappa, said that welfare of farmers has always been our priority. We will allocate Rs 1,50,000 Cr for various irrigation projects in Karnataka and ensure water reaches to every field in the state. He stressed that “Raitha Bandhu Market Intervention Fund” will be set up to support farmers during price fluctuations. This will also monitor the implementation of all farmer friendly schemes executed by the Agriculture, Minor Irrigation and Water Resources ministries.

 

BJP has always been firm about doubling farmers’ income, he further said that BJP has pledged to ensure that farmers receive 1.5 times the cost of production as Minimum Support Price (MSP) to fulfill PM Modi’s vision of doubling farmers’ incomes.

BJP will launch the “Negilayogi Yojane” to provide direct income support of 10,000 each to 20 Lakh small and marginal dry land farmers, Yeddyurappa added. BJP will announce a crop loan waiver upto 1 Lakh, including all loans from Nationalised Banks and Co-operatives, in first cabinet meeting for the benefit of our Annadaatas.

BJP will launch the “Mukhya Mantri Raita Suraksha Vime Yojane” to provide an accidental insurance cover of upto 2 lakh, free of cost, for landless agricultural labourers. This proves holistic vision of the BJP government, he added.

Boosting a start-up mission, Start up culture will further flourish under BJP. It has pledged to develop 6 “K-Hubs” as the biggest incubators and co-working spaces for startups in India at Hubballi, Bengaluru, Raichur, Mysuru, Mangaluru and Kalaburgi.

KIRTI Aayoga (Karnataka Institute for Reformative and Transformative Initiatives) will replace Karnataka Knowledge Commission and state planning Commission which will strengthen the Sakala Act & expand the scope of the Sakala Act to all Govt services.

Rejuvenating the environment, Rs 2,500 Cr “Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Fund” to clean and revive the lakes and rivers of Bengaluru and free Bengalureans from the water tanker mafia.

For the safety of women, “Kittur Rani Chennamma Flying Squads” will attend to distress calls of women in Bengaluru quickly. Free sanitary napkins will be provided to BPL women and girl students and at Rs. 1 for other women under the new “Stree Suvidha Scheme.” “Mukhya Mantri Smartphone Yojane” will be launched to provide women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families with free smartphones. Special Investigation Cell will be formed, under a woman Police Officer and employing 1,000 police women to investigate all pending crimes against women. The amount payable will be increased at maturity under the Bhagyalakshmi scheme to Rs 2 Lakh.

Rs 10,000 Crore “Stree Unnati Fund” will be set up, one of the largest women run co-operatives and establish “Stree Unnati Stores” to market its products. Loans upto Rs 2 Lakhs shall be given to women only SHGs at 1% p.a. interest.

“Ayushman Karnataka Scheme” will be introduced to provide poor and vulnerable families a cover of Rs 5 Lakh for treatment. 2 “Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences” will be set up (on the lines of AIIMS).

PM Modi in his Karnataka Election campaign trail has also highlighted about “empowering farmers”. Although PM Modi said that this election is about prosperous future for women, well-being of farmers and empowering Dalits, Tribals.”

Also while interacting with Kisan Morcha Karyakartas on Wednesday, PM Modi assured to double the income of farmers by 2022. PM Modi promised that “our government is committed to doubling the income of farmers by 2022. Our government is trying to empower farmers during the entire crop cycle. We are making efforts to uplift the farmers and come up with solutions for the problems that are being faced by them; our government is working on empowering the farmers he added.
